This is what happens when your old dog think she's still a pup and smashes her head into a boat trailer at high speed. In typical Bailey fashion - she did er up good. Those stitches you see are actually the laceration edges as this cut was triangular in shape and right down to the (ahem) skull. She didn't bleed more than a few tablespoons of blood and actually didn't even seem to give a shit. I however did; and packed her up (we were at Ian and Shelley's place at Shushwap) and brought her into see the emergency vet on call. Had to help him shave and rinse her wound; knock her out and gas her. Then had the ugly task of watching as he stitched her up internally - then finished her up as you see in these pics. I've just iced her head to help with the swelling and find myself wondering just how bad her headache must be this morning. Poor old beast - just glad she still has her eyes. So now - a list of the almost 12 YO Bailey's ailments:

1. Missing top of femur due to dysplasia.

2. Missing two front teeth due to snow shovel contact one winter many moons ago.

3. One kick ass scar!

Oh yeah - and this cost me one missed round of golf and $350. If only I'd been a clever man - could have been a wealthy vet.

K- I hold it; I occasionally put it in my golf bag. Other than that - the machine is in my back pocket. But it does get used and I'll readily admit that the Rarz thingy blows. I also understand that the IPhone is not gonna be available for Bell customers. The 'chip jobbie' that is all the rage in Europe (it holds all of your personal #'s pics et all) is a part of the upcoming IPhone and isn't used in western Canada. The way I understand it - that's gonna keep Seattle's latest from my market. None the less I still wish I had original phone. Remember it Doc? She was tough. As for the album pic; doesn't take me 12 months to fit a year in as it were.
Well I thought I'd pass on this wee story of varying customer service approaches at Bell Canada. My oh so shitty Motorola Razor thingy is fucked again. This brings to four the amount of times I've lost the use of both screens; rendering the phone useless. Mr. Brown thinks I'm to hard on em - I think I should get a phone-purse-carrier thingy: but I just can't. Regardless I took the phone up to the bell kiosk yesterday morning. Thought I'd be in luck as it was staffed by the same girl who had helped me previously. We exchanged pleasantries and after hearing my plight she proceeded to remove the battery cover and simply say 'Water Damage.' The gin smell and red eyes hat she sported had me thinking this wasn't going to go well. The 'water damage fib' surprised me because I never take the phone in the BR and I've never used it in the rain either. I told her this and also let her in on the story of the phone I washed while visiting the lads in Van. Thought a laugh might break the ice. Nope. At this point I'm cool and accepting - if this is the case; so be it. So I'm kinda stunned but none the less looking an new replacement phones. I ask her if as a good Bell customer I might get some sort of sale price if I buy a new one. No she says - it'll be full price. So now I'm looking at a 300-400 dollar replacement and none to thrilled at that thought. She now proceeds to tell me that she might give me a deal if a temp phone I had borrowed earlier hadn't been returned with the same water damage as this; my current unit. Now I know she's being a cow. I only had the thing for a week and the temp phone was never wet - so I must have got it with said bullshit 'damage.' Strangely enough I hold my tongue and thank her - telling her I'll have to think about it. Make my way downtown to the Bell store and what do you know? The very helpful and pleasant young fella examines the same battery area (the one the little club going bitch told me was 'water damaged') and finds nothing out of the ordinary. Instead he apologies profusely and even goes so far as to take my email so he can forward all correspondence he's planning on having with his Bell Canada supervisor and Motorola directly to me. All this takes about 10 min. and he even goes so far as to transfer all the data from my old piece of shit onto this loaner phone as he suspects his bosses will either replace the unit entirely or swap me off to a sturdier more 'Dunc-friendly' kinda phone. Nice kid that Curtis - I will be calling his boss with a good word about him. As for the bitch up the hill - fuck her. Life's too short and I'm getting mellow in my old age.

Oh yeah - we're 5 months into 2007. This is my album of the year. Sis and Leah; your copies are burned already and awaiting shipping handling...

Pic: JFu
Condolences: All those who cared

Having just lent JFu Pan's Labyrinth I thought I'd take a second and relay my impressions of the film. Uh..hope it's not being played at too many day care centres. Could certainly make nap time a wee bit tough. A lovely film that; in my opinion delves deeply into the Psyche of wee uns. I took her 'experiences' to be coping mechanisms. It seems the rotten life this child was living necessitated an escape. And her fairies and missions accomplished just that; sheltering her from her war torn and slightly cast aside young life. A brilliant and haunting film - I likes it mucho! And the Captain - well what can you really say about him? Just as torn as she - yet way more hateable. Great direction for this cast here. With or without the effects this a story worth telling.

B.O. '07:

Thought I'd use this forum to gather some ideas from the principals before branching out to the others lads. There has been a strong backlash to the camping idea at Eagle Island. Thus I think majority rules and we nix that idea and save it for the 10th anniversary. But that brings us to this year. Dunno if Lex will be able to make it with his impending move - and JFu MR. Brown and I have new jobs as well. I know I'll only we available Fri - Sat - Sun all summer long. If it falls on a Mon. stat holiday I'm off as well. So - thought I'd toss it out here and see what you all can come up with. Dates and possible locations needed boys....

Oficially Over. 5/16 wins isn't enough for the prize. Luongo may be the best I've ever seen. Bye bye Sopel. Later Mo. Smell ya later Cooke or Kesler. I'm so sad right now - won't even bitch about the non call on Burrows. Wow. Strong I stand - will adjust the bumper sticker tommorrow. Roberto was pooping - puking - getting IV before OT by the way. Oh Danny Boy how strong you were. Off to cry now...

2 Nil after the second period. The Canucks are looking so gutsy tonight - I love it. Morrison finally has the monkey off his back and Bulis looks possessed again tonight. Absolutely loving the effort and the way Alain is sticking with his set lines and totally fucking with Carlyle's mind. This is the kind of hockey game that revs you right to the red line. Let's keep er going and the sky's the limit Lads. And have the Nucks ever had a player nominated for so many awards by the way?
