PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) - A Coquitlam man is dead after being hit by car in Port Moody.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s from New Westminster, struck the 73-year-old victim, sending him roughly 40 to 60 feet down the road.
The accident happened at St. John's Street west of Moody Street at 1 a.m.
Sgt. Phil Reid with Port Moody police says investigators are trying to figure out how fast the driver was going.
"We're still on the scene and the road will be closed for several hours. And that's certainly what they're attempting to do is to determine speed."
Reid says if anyone has any information or saw anything to please call Port Moody police immediately.
The victim's name has yet to be released.
