'Car-nasty' does it again - the 18 must be haunted. It certainly spooked my buddy Patraig who is now heading to the 1st for a four hole playoff with Sergio. Harrington double bogeyed the Home Hole, and Sergio's lip out forces the playoff. Apart from the Stanley Cup Finals, this is the most exciting moment in sports for this lad. Bold prediction: the Irishman by one; though I'd love to see Sergio win it. Two of my favs about to battle it out - gotta run.

Sam Snead once said that accommodation and food at a British Open were like "campin' out." Boo Weekley seconded that emotion today.
"It's rough. It's been rough on that food. Ain't got no sweet tea, and ain't got no fried chicken," said the backwoods product of Milton. Fla., who turns 34 Monday.
Weekley, who dropped two shots coming in and shot 72 to stand at two-under-par, famously asked Paul Lawrie last week whether he'd be playing here, and how he qualified. He'd never heard of the 1999 Open champion.
"Yeah, I kind of stuck my foot in my mouth there, didn't I?" he said. "But if you don't know, you don't know. I hated that I said what I said, especially with him saying just a couple days earlier that he don't get no respect, and then I say something like that, it's like, Wham! Here's a slap upside your head.'"
Clearly he hasn't travelled outside the U.S. much.
"I've been to Canada once," he said, "but that ain't really like leavin'."

VANCOUVER — Gary Lupul, a former Vancouver Canucks hockey player, was found dead in a Burnaby, B.C., home Wednesday.
Lupul, considered one of the most popular players in the team’s history playing seven seasons in the 1980s and going to the Stanley Cup finals in 1981, was confirmed dead by the Burnaby RCMP.
"There's no indication of foul play at this time," RCMP Cpl. Jane Baptista said Thursday.
"The coroner is involved. We're still trying to speak to some of the family but there are no indications that his death was caused by anything suspicious."
He was 48.
Lupul was currently working as a scout with the Canucks for junior and college games in Ontario after being in and out of rehab for addiction.
Considered a "local" favourite, fans used to cheer "Loop, loop" from the stands during the 293 games he played with the Vancouver Canucks.
Other media have reported that Lupul had died of a heart attack but police have refused to comment.
I remember watching a game with my cousin (probably in '81 or '82) where Lupul took a wrister which hit both posts and the crossbar and stayed out. He was a fun player to watch.

Had a great time hanging on to one of these ALL day today. Many PSI and a hundred feet of heavy hose made for a long shift. Seems I got called upon to look after some contractors hired on site to cut and remove some old steel and decking etc. Said contractor used torches to cut up the booty. Said booty rests in an overgrown long grassed field. Ughh. Everytime they sparked up it lit. Four fills of the tanker and a fuel run made up my ass time. Lucky contractors - I'm gone for an hour; they rest. I come back with water for their fires and they start right up. Wow - crazy day; but I know Pumper #1 inside out now. And I know what wildfires smell and sound like as they start up! Other thatn that - all is well. Expect Hitchcock to take a run at Don Hay as well. Saw them golfing/dining at Rivershore on the weekend and wouldn't be surprised. hays done all he can at every other level - time for the bigs. Also see the Nucks shored up the D today - trade coming. anyone?

Long time no post - need to get back at 'er. So much is also new and exciting. Boy's only '07 went well as always. We stayed at a property well know to us, and after finally gaining entry (albeit through a window) a good time was had by all. My personal highlights include surfing Porn with the white monkey, enjoying a bat with the young lad, and the most excellent back nine that Sun Peaks now boasts. So I get to remain relatively inactive this weekend before proceeding up to Well's Gray golf and campground for next weekend's annual 'Wellie-Cup.' in memory of a worker at the mine who died tragically last year. This place is amazing - camping, all you can handle golf, and firewood by the truckload for $120. And that's two nights! Can't wait to say the least; sleeping in the back of the Volvo = good times I tell ya.On a completely unrelated note - I'm currently in the coffee shop sitting about 20 ft. from Ken Hitchcock. He's not looking well - much trouble getting around and packing the pounds back on. You heard it here first. Over and out mes amis.

This is what happens when your old dog think she's still a pup and smashes her head into a boat trailer at high speed. In typical Bailey fashion - she did er up good. Those stitches you see are actually the laceration edges as this cut was triangular in shape and right down to the (ahem) skull. She didn't bleed more than a few tablespoons of blood and actually didn't even seem to give a shit. I however did; and packed her up (we were at Ian and Shelley's place at Shushwap) and brought her into see the emergency vet on call. Had to help him shave and rinse her wound; knock her out and gas her. Then had the ugly task of watching as he stitched her up internally - then finished her up as you see in these pics. I've just iced her head to help with the swelling and find myself wondering just how bad her headache must be this morning. Poor old beast - just glad she still has her eyes. So now - a list of the almost 12 YO Bailey's ailments:
1. Missing top of femur due to dysplasia.
2. Missing two front teeth due to snow shovel contact one winter many moons ago.
3. One kick ass scar!
Oh yeah - and this cost me one missed round of golf and $350. If only I'd been a clever man - could have been a wealthy vet.

Having just lent JFu Pan's Labyrinth I thought I'd take a second and relay my impressions of the film. Uh..hope it's not being played at too many day care centres. Could certainly make nap time a wee bit tough. A lovely film that; in my opinion delves deeply into the Psyche of wee uns. I took her 'experiences' to be coping mechanisms. It seems the rotten life this child was living necessitated an escape. And her fairies and missions accomplished just that; sheltering her from her war torn and slightly cast aside young life. A brilliant and haunting film - I likes it mucho! And the Captain - well what can you really say about him? Just as torn as she - yet way more hateable. Great direction for this cast here. With or without the effects this a story worth telling.

B.O. '07:
Thought I'd use this forum to gather some ideas from the principals before branching out to the others lads. There has been a strong backlash to the camping idea at Eagle Island. Thus I think majority rules and we nix that idea and save it for the 10th anniversary. But that brings us to this year. Dunno if Lex will be able to make it with his impending move - and JFu MR. Brown and I have new jobs as well. I know I'll only we available Fri - Sat - Sun all summer long. If it falls on a Mon. stat holiday I'm off as well. So - thought I'd toss it out here and see what you all can come up with. Dates and possible locations needed boys....

What an amazing afternoon I had yesterday. I'll jot it down for you in note form.
- After submitting a boot receipt to work I was informed that I had been incorrectly charged PST.
-Thus a visit to Mark's Work Warehouse was in order to liberate my $4.90.
-During my running around I was listening to the Police's Synchronicity.
-The lineup at Marks was mental.
-While in line; the owner of Senor Froggy's walked by.
-Right then I needed a taco.
-After Marks I enjoyed said taco.
-Between bites I noticed North Hills theatre being torn apart.
-Walked into the theatre to see if there were any seats I might pillage/buy.
-No seats - but some serious flashbacks were had.
-Many good and bad films were enjoyed by me there.
-Met an actress from 'the Unforgiven' there.
-Had the date prior to having my cherry popped there.
-Got a 'buttery-stroke' there!
-Enough filth I suppose: the days chain of events took me back to my fav. theater where I reminisced up a storm. Me being me I got to chatting with the worker fella. He was kind enough to give me the 'Aisle 2' sign from above the door on the right side of the theatre. I love it - and I love him for letting me save it from the dustbin. It's been cleaned and tidied and awaits a bit of wall space. Nostalgic I am.

Oh yah - haven't reviewed a film in a while. Both of these were enjoyed with a young lass who picks some fine film. Little Miss Sunshine is lovely - cute - and a wee bit National Lampoons Vacation. Very funny and brilliant performances. Glad to see a film of it's 'stature' get the recognition it deserved; albeit in a weak Oscar year. As for Mr Norton's film...really kinda sorta enjoyed it. What's his face from the pool nymph flick (he should have retired having played the wino in Sideways! Take that N. Cage! HAA) was almost brutal. Ms. Biel was; well stunning. The whole scam from beyond the grave gig was a whole lotta fun and I would reccomend it as some serious fun fodder. By the way - I expect some rants from the bus driver RE the last two posts. Just awaiting the day we can all cram on his bus lads! BO email to follow shortly...
Alrighty - this is NOT the critter to be discussed below! Had an odd sensation earlier this morning on the way to work. I ran over a squirrel. Made a move (and spilled the coffee in my holder thingy) trying to avert it's demise; but no dice kids. Ran it over good and hard. This is a rodent essentially right? I ought not care. None the less - all day I had images of a trunk full of squire ll kits/pups/kids (whatever) starving in a cozy nest Mom had made em. And I'm not insinuating I was able to sex the critter as I ran over it! It's just the way my mind portrayed the incident. I've driven that road for nearly six years and killed nothing more than an A/C belt. It made me wonder about hunting...am I alright with it because I'm lawfully sanctioned to harvest animals at a time when they have no wee uns depending on them? Because I know I'm not a sadistic bastard - killing a deer or moose moves me like nothing else. And yet - this fucking squirrel was on my mind all day. Here's hoping it was a boy...and had no kits (whatever) to feed.

MIAMI BEACH -- Goalie Ed Belfour's future with the Panthers was in doubt before Monday. Now there's more to consider about whether to re-sign him.
Belfour was arrested at a South Beach bar early Monday and charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence after a scuffle with an officer, Miami Beach police said. Also, teammate Ville Peltonen was charged with criminal mischief in a separate incident.
According to police reports, Belfour and Peltonen were at Nikki Beach, 1 Ocean Drive, around 1:10 a.m., when security guards repeatedly asked Belfour to leave. Belfour, 41, refused, and after a friend tried to pull him away, Belfour walked toward an officer "in a fighting stance" and pushed him, police said.
Police said that while the officer tried to arrest him, Belfour grabbed the officer's shirt and fell forward onto the ground, kicking and putting both hands under his stomach so he couldn't be handcuffed behind his back. Police said Belfour, who was then shocked with a stun gun, had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and breath that smelled very strongly of alcohol.
About 15 minutes before Belfour's arrest, Peltonen, 33, started breaking a metal pole on the front passenger side of a fire-rescue truck parked in the area while smiling at officers on the scene, police said.
Belfour, who had scratches on both knees, and Peltonen were booked at Miami-Dade County Jail, police said.
This is reported to be Luongo's pre game ritual...he heads up to this seat before every home game and prepares his game day stick. Then it's said he sits Jedi-like staring out at the ice; presumably envisioning the beauty he'll bring to the ice. 16 wins please Roberto Boy. We Canuck fans will fall before you and worship you like a false idol. Please make it happen lad - we've waited o so long!

This is what we've all been waiting for kids. Mr. Luongo and the lads have made it to the big dance and have secured many more millions for the Aqualinni family. Puffy surprised many (none more than myself) by staying pat with the plan/system etc. and believing in the club he had assembled. Must have been leftover training from big bad Burkie I'd assume. No bold predictions yet from me (hate to curse the club). That being said I expect this group to go deep into the playoffs - albeit in some close matches. Wed night will be a fun one - hopefully the beginning of a Volvo sticker realizing truth! K. that jazz is out of my system - now on to the other news. I have two shifts left playing with the big toys in NA's biggest sandbox. I'm officially set off to begin my apprenticeship a week come Mon. I really am quite torn about it. On one hand I feel ready to take on new challenges; having learned much by way of open pit mining. On the other hand - I suppose I feel content and happily 'in the loop' occupying my current position. The last shift will undoubtedly be a bit uncomfortable; I'll embrace the emotions and try to remember them when my new situation proves difficult.

Four strokes is fuck all to the machine. I'll try and make this a regular Master's post through Sun. My shedule blows though - the updates shall be wee. Get to watch Sun. if I manage consciousness!!! On another note: I'm down to four days by unofficial sources in the Pit before I'm heading back down to Dust-Land as a lowly apprentice in the warehouse. I'm feeling rather stunned - the realization that I'm leaving my crew of nearly 5 yrs is an odd sensation. I'll truly miss some of wy work pals with whom I have daily interaction that means so much. Alas - change is good they say. I look forward to a new challenge; though I'll miss running the big toys SO fucking much! In mining however - take every oppurtunity you can! The way I hear it; I'll be semi-retired (retarded?) in my new job. So - why am I so freaked out about it?

ONE SICK FUCKER:
LONDON - Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards acknowledged that he mixed his father's ashes with cocaine and that "it went down pretty well."
The 63 year old icon told British music magazine NME: "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated, and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared."
Richards' father, Bert, passed away in 2002, he was 84.
Richards went on to warn others of his lifestyle and did not in any way endorse such behavior. Speaking further with NME he stated, "I did it because that was the way I did it. Now people think it's a way of life."

Well well. Time for another comma-less post. I'm beginning to enjoy my new found punctuation freedom. I'll start this post by thanking everyone involved in the lovely Fanatatic golf tourney in Penticton. As usual: good times were had by all; the economy of Penticton is better than it was three days ago; and the strength and stabilility as kidneys and livers were once again tested fully! I won't bore you non golfers with the stories of glamerous saves and dialed in putts. Instead I'll bore you with a nature story. I was standing still; zen like almost as I'd just drained my putt and smoked a kicking bowl. That's when it got funny. Watching my partners play out; my attention was overtaken by a woodpecker on an irrigation box right beside me. He (or she) puffed out and preened before calling off to the hills. Imagine my surprise when a ways away comes the reply. Said pecker looks very happy with itself and drills his beak very rapidly into the plastic box then calls away again. And gets another reply! Only closer this time. The went on like this for a few minutes and I just felt kinda blown away as I do everytime I get to interact with critters on golf courses. This wasn't as good as the time a mongoose stole my ball or the time I saw Ravens fucking at Rivershore - but was enjoyable none the less. Hope all Woddy's chitchat led to some fine pecker loving!

Dave Nonis continues to impress as a GM in the bigs. Salo resigned for 4 yrs. Thus Lou and the big four signed long term in the back end. Holy shit - Puffy is making some sweet assed moves. Loving the direction the Canucks are headed. Bold prediction time - The Nucks will go deep in the post season as surely as Lex will run down French bipods in the street!

Howdy kids - an update in the life of Dunc. Aka Dusty. Aka DRo. Aka one sick son of a gun. Yup - twas bound to happen. Bob and I worked for three sets off in the now lovely flat from hell. And of course - we wore our bodies and spirits down to the point that we beth are now infected with some evil bug. A day before the lovely 'Fanatic' golf tourney in Penticton. Swell. I took so much cold medicine the night between my day shits that I actually felt as fucked up trying to sleep as I did the one and only time I dropped LSD. Odd huh. So let's see - what else is new? As I mentioned: the rono is done - so the golfing season will officially begin (thank Christ) tommorrow at noon. I really don't care if I'm dripping snot all around the course - I'm gonna love it. Sat night will be Slack Alice's. One hell of a strip club (from what I remember anyhow!) Looking forward to the Nucks hitting the postseason again - and to the Police gig on the 30th of May. Now who am I gonna take? Out for now.

My furnace has quit; twas cold last night. Considerable shrinkage.
Luongo is Set to win the Mark Messier leadership award prior to tonights game vs the Preds. Prediction: 2-0 Vancouver with (gasp) another injury to Foppa.
Renovations blow and Tayside really ought retire once and for all. I want a break - I want to golf. Patience Dusty Patience.
The two girls working at CC right this moment make me think very fun thoughts. That being said; will I ever settle down like the rest of the world?
A recently spotted tee shirt:
Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator.
MSN Messenger is crazy - but I think I finally h ave it working again. At one point last night I thought all contacts with the MSN community was lost. Much swearing this morning along with a few keystrokes; and alas - working.
Alex is in Montreal. And I have no # for him there.
Adios Au revoir Smell ya later

K - the start of my 'Reno-Beard.' Bob and I ain't shaving til the last nail is pounded. Been a scary three days off for me I must admit. Found out that renovating and painting is kinda like riding a bike. And I'm a god at riding said bike apparently. But Lordy I would have loved some time off - especially considering the evil clocks go ahead tonight and - guess what - I work in the morning. Joy oh Joy. Shall update a finished beard photo; though those that know me know that this is as good as it gets! Night kids. Nucks 3-1 tommorrow over Burkie's lady Ducks.

Suspend him forever. This guy should never play in the best hockey league the globe has to offer. Goodbye and don't the door hit your ass on the way to prison. Simon; what a mink - always been one and wow oh wow - this was just horrible. I'm really hoping the NHL takes this opportunity to make it clear that ANY hits to the head shall be dealt with severly. Soon see....

Wow - the province of BC is full of dead wood to feed the pulp mills. Evil fucking beetle. Yet here we are - paying a full 1/4 more for The Province or The Sun here in the interior. Maybe they'll chalk it up to the gas gouging. None the less; I can't subscribe to either rag and feel at the mercy of retail pricing. Don't like it; and am curious to know if any of my peeps have subscriptions - did your price go up?
